Surrey is packed with exciting events in April, from Easter to Earth Day and everything in between. To get you started, here are 10 things to do around the city this month.

15th Annual Early Years Festival

  • What: A fun and interactive for young children up to the age of 6 or for parents expecting a new addition to their family. The Early Years Festival connects with community members and focuses on providing children with a healthy and active lifestyle. Featuring play areas, face painting and balloon artists, and live performances.

Family Easter Egg Hunt at Bridgeview Community Centre

  • What: Hop on over for an Easter egg hunt. This event is ideal for families with children ages 10 and under. There will also be Easter-themed games and activities as well as an opportunity to take a photo with a special guest.

Critter Capers: The Case of the Lost Bunny

  • What: A baby bunny is lost in the woods. Use clues to retrace the bunny’s steps and help it find its way home.

  • When: April 17 from noon to 3 pm

World Travel Book Club for Kids

  • What: Travel from country to country through books that explore food, sports, famous people, holidays and more! The perfect book club if you don’t have time for a long novel, or want to get extra practice with your English. Come talk about books, make new friends and enjoy light snacks. Ages 8-11.

Sustainable Food Systems in Surrey

  • What: A stimulating evening of information and conversation. Village Surrey and the Surrey White Rock Food Action Coalition are hosting Dr. Kent Mullinix from Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Institute for Sustainable Food System.

Classical Coffee Concert: L’histoire du Tango

  • What: Tango is the focal point of this concert so be prepared for some hot and fiery music. The Bergmann Piano Duo and flute virtuoso Paolo Bortoloussi will also explore some other dance inspired works for flute and piano. This energetic programme will feature works by composers such Piazzolla, Prokoviev, Poulenc, and more.

Party for the Planet: BC’s Largest Earth Day Celebration

  • What: Celebrate Surrey’s commitment to the environment with this one-day extravaganza which includes musical performances, eco-crafts, a bicycling clinic, and a tree and plant sale. With headliners Shawn Hook and Virginia To Vegas

Vaisakhi Day Parade

  • What: Everyone is welcome at the annual Vaisakhi Day Parade, featuring cultural floats, community performers and live music. To pay tribute to the harvest celebration roots of the parade, attendees are given free food and drink from hundreds of local residents and businesses.

Senior Safety with Surrey RCMP

  • What: Learn tips and tricks for staying safe including topics on personal safety, home safety, pedestrian safety and more.
