Tania Willard: dissimulation / Burnaby Art Gallery

  • What: Join artist Tania Willard in a discussion of her highly collaborative practice, including BUSH Gallery, a residency space that is part of the Secwépemc Nation. The exhibition opening will follow the artist talk. Exhibition runs September 15 to November 5.

Queers be Gaming

  • What: An event for nerds, gamers and geeks of all types, shapes and sizes. Join the Vancouver Gaymers for their meetup at La Fontana Cafe, with board games, video games, steam games and more. Everyone is welcome.

Live at the ‘Bolt: The Fever Cabaret

  • What: The Fever Cabaret will conjure a theatrical atmosphere that seduces and intoxicates. Enter a space filled with the sounds of soft piano music, joined by the enchanting tones of a cello plucked and stroked, beckoning you to sit at dimly lit tables and engage with the captivating hostess who seems to see through your very soul.

Amazing Mudder

  • What: Teens combine their brain and brawn powers to overcome this challenging hybrid scavenger-hunt/obstacle course. Enjoy a free barbecue at the end of the event. Ages 13 to 18.

  • Where: Summit Youth Centre – 200 Willingdon Avenue (North parking lot behind Eileen Dailly), Burnaby

World Rivers Day Celebration

  • What: World Rivers Day fun includes entertainment, hands-on activities, displays and demonstrations. Plus, the Village and Carousel will be open.

  • Time: 11 am to 4:30 pm
  • Where: Burnaby Village Museum & Carousel – 6501 Deer Lake Avenue, Burnaby
  • Admission: Free, carousel rides are $2.65 each.

Vancouver Console League – Halo 5 4v4 Random Teams Tournament

  • What: Vancouver Console League’s first ever event. Compete in a Halo 5 4v4 Random Teams Tournament Microsoft Store at Metrotown. All skill levels welcome, and free to enter with a chance to win a prize at the end of the event.

Burnaby Artisan Farmers’ Market

  • What: Launched in June 2008, this open air market, situated in the North Parking Lot of Burnaby City Hall, offers visitors an assortment of food and craft stalls to peruse on Saturday mornings

  • What: Folk Fabulous II is an intimate evening of music performed by six of Vancouver’s finest musical talent. Performers will collaborate on each other’s songs and fill the evening with new arrangements, vocal harmonies and musical creations.
