SkyTrain dates: 9 things to do around Lafarge Lake-Douglas Station

After about an hour train ride from Waterfront, you’ll arrive at Lafarge Lake–Douglas Station. Located in Central Coquitlam, this Skytrain stop is within walking distance of plenty of Coquitlam’s best entertainment.  To sum it up if you can make it to the end of the line, you’ll be in for a worthwhile treat.

Munch on some uber affordable tacos, or treat your date to an evening out at the theatre, there’s something for everyone here. And, since it’s nowhere close to Downtown hype yourself up for minimal lines and wait times!

Get tricky at the Town Centre Skate and BMX Jump Park

  • What: A competition level BMX track which includes a new primary and beginner circuit. The redesigned freestyle track provides for a broader range of experiences for BMX riders.

Sip coffee at Caffe Divano

  • What: Coquitlam’s hottest coffee shop, boasting and roasting some of the finest brews in town. A favourite hangout for many Douglas College students.

  • When: 6 am – 6 pm Monday to Friday, 7 am – 6 pm Saturday and  Sunday

Run around Lafarge Lake

  • What: Run the 1.2 km Lafarge loop or cruise around the 2.7 km perimeter trail. Most of the trail has fantastic tree cover making it the perfect course for sunny day runs.

Swim at the Wave Pool (AKA City Centre Aquatic Complex)

  • What: Known by locals as the wave pool for its artificial wave machine, the City Centre Aquatic Complex also boasts a leisure pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and a fitness centre.

  • When: 5:30 am – 10:30 pm Monday to Saturday, 7 am – 10:30 pm Sunday

Culture yourself at the Evergreen Culture Centre

Eat Belgian waffles for dinner

  • What: Who doesn’t want waffles for dinner? Miracle Belgian Waffles is open as late as midnight so you can munch your heart away after an evening out.

Watch a soccer game
