Get your gowns, shine your shoes and take out your masks, Vancouver. On March 30, grab those black ties and join the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (B.C. SPCA) for the Vancouver Masquerade Ball.
All proceeds from the Ball, which is hosted by House of Pete, will benefit the B.C. SPCA. According to their website, the Masquerade Ball was inspired by the need of animals everywhere and because of a little dog named Pete, who has been in recovery from Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA) for the past two years. The B.C. SPCA undertakes valuable research into health concerns afflicting animals.
On March 30, join celebrity host Dawn Chubai, the Bradley McGillivary Blues Band and B.C. SPCA’s Marcie Moriarty and get transported into a magical evening in your city.
The Vancouver Masquerade Ball will include live music, scrumptious hors d’oeuvres, great prizes and an exciting silent auction. All you need is a mask, formal attire or a vintage-inspired costume and a sense of adventure.
The B.C. SPCA is a non-profit organization funded primarily by public donations. Their mission is to prevent cruelty and to promote the welfare of animals through a wide range of services, including cruelty investigations, emergency rescue and treatment, sheltering and adoption of homeless and abused animals, humane education, advocacy, farm animal welfare, spay/neuter programs and wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
Tickets are $99 each or $350 per group of four. They are available at House of Pete or Sit Doggie Daycare at 1064 Davie St., Vancouver.
