For 16 years, “Joe’s Garage” was the legendary house band at The Roxy on Vancouver’s Granville Street. But, like all good things, this too must come to an end.
A new band is about to take the stage, and create new memories for club goers. With what the Roxy management is calling a vibrant new sound, “Tattoo Alibi” will serve up classic and Top 40 Rock hits with a focus on current trends every Saturday and Monday.
The same band will gear up for Sunday country nights under the name “Locked & Loaded,” continuing to satisfy demand for this always popular theme night.
“We would like to publicly thank Joe’s Garage for being a part of our family for so many years, and for their professional contribution as exceptional musicians in our room,” said Sasha Pocekivic, General Manager of The Roxy. “The staff and management team are excited to welcome Tattoo Alibi to our stage to keep the party fresh as we move into our 27th year.”
The new band is a collaboration of former “Joe’s” members, and new additions and several members with over 20 years experience in their craft, touring both locally and internationally. From Jazz to Rock to Metal, they were trained in professional schools, worked with record labels and performed relentlessly.
Members of the band include: Joey Richards (Vocals, Guitar), Dave Padden (Vocals, Guitar), Jason Bonnell (Bass), Larry Hirschman (Keys, Guitar, Harmonica) and Alex Glassford (Drums).
Joey and Larry have been leaders in the live music program at The Roxy for over 16 years while the other members have played with or opened for bands like Daniel Wesley, Theory Of A Deadman, Annihilator, Anami Vice, Finger Eleven, sum 41, Kim Mitchell, April Wine, Soundgarden and Iron Maiden.
The weekend of March 28 to 30 will be the official launch party, with the Industry/Media launch on Monday, March 30.
