Screens big and small will get a second helping of Nicholas Sparks’ famous story The Notebook after a deal was made with The CW network to turn it into a television series.

The much-loved drama starring Canadian-duo Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams was released in 2004 and based on Sparks’ 1996 novel of the same name. While box office numbers for the flick weren’t anything impressive, the film achieved a sleeper-hit status among both women and man touched by its romantic storyline based in the 40s.

The CW, home of Gossip Girl and many filmed-in-Vancouver hits including Arrow, Supernatural and The Flash, is now reportedly lining up a series based on the film with the premise being characters Noah and Ally’s love story.

Entertainment Weekly quoted the show’s official log-line, stating: “This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina.”

There is no word as of yet when the show will premiere and whether it will be filed in Vancouver, but a pilot episode will still need to be green-lit by Warner Bros before the development goes to series.
