A spinoff of the U.S. reality show The Bachelorette is coming to Canada in 2016.

Following up on The Bachelor Canada, Corus Entertainment’s W Network along with Vancouver’s Good Human Productions will produce the new reality series due in fall 2016, featuring our own former Bachelorette, Jillian Harris.

Twenty men from across the country will compete for the love of one yet-to-be-announced woman, doing just about anything it takes to win her over and receive that coveted final rose. Casting for the first season’s bachelors commenced on November 18 and anyone interested in applying for the role can enter online, have someone nominate them, or visit the in-person casting calls across Canada beginning in January.

Jillian Harris, former star of the U.S. Bachelorette and Alberta native and Vancouver resident, will have some role in the show but details have yet to be confirmed. She told ET Canada earlier this week that being on the show completely changed her life.

“On the good side of things, there’s so many opportunities that came to me from being on the show,” said Harris. “I think it has really made me into a more dynamic person… and the good parts about me came from taking that risk of being on the show.”

But despite the boost for her career – she now hosts Love It or List It Vancouver – Harris is quick to recognize the role took a major toll on her.

“Some of the happiest and coolest moments of my life happened because of that show, but I think also, some of the lowest parts of my life happened because of the show,” she told ET Canada. “The breakup, and the attention, and the online bullying. There was a point in time where I was sick because I couldn’t deal with everything. People would say, ‘Well, that’s what she signed up for,’ but nothing can prepare you for being a ‘normal’ person, to all of a sudden being on the cover of all the magazines.”

Production will start in March 2016 for a fall 2016 premiere.
