TD has been working to break down barriers, embed diversity, and promote inclusivity within Canada’s LGBTQ community for the last 12 years. It’s a corporate sponsor of Pride and the first Canadian financial institution to profile same-sex couples in mainstream advertising.

Pride Week is a great way to celebrate the LGBTQ community, but TD believes that continuing that momentum year round will allow communities to keep growing year round.

As part of this belief, TD continues its legacy of support for the LGBTQ community 365 days a year through funding, partnerships, and employee volunteerism. It’s invested $2.1 million to help support more than 100 LGBTQ community organizations and initiatives.

“It’s not about being ‘gay for a day,” says Grant Minish, Regional Manager for LGBT business development at TD. “It’s about always being there for the community in good times and bad, not just once a year when there’s a big celebration.”

TD has also taken a leading role among North American companies in supporting transgender employees and customers including transitioning in the workplace guidelines, benefits, education, awareness, outreach, and partnerships with the Canadian Professional Association for Transgender Health.

Their diversity and inclusion initiatives and year-round support for the LGBT community are core values that make it a stronger organization for not only its employees, customers, and shareholders, but for our communities too.
