There are 31 restaurants participating in TOY 2016; you can zero in on the new ones (either new or returning to TOY, or new to the ‘hood) or you can put together your own list of dining adventures to check out before it ends on October 27,

Here are the three best menus at each price point for Taste of Yaletown 2016:

$25 (or less) Menus

Rodney’s Oyster House

Oysters plus Prosecco: It’s just a simple win. Rodney’s is joining TOY this year with this straightforward menu of cold, fresh Kusshi oysters and a glass of Mionetto Prosecco for $25.

Lime & Moon Pie Company

Offering a $15 and a $25 menu, the Yaletown outpost of this Bowen Island pie biz is a worthy spot to check out during TOY. For $15 you can have either a slice of sweet or savoury pie paired with an espresso beverage or tea, and for $25 you can do the same, but double–which makes this an inventive menu for couples or friends looking for an affordable TOY meal.

Minami Restaurant

If Minami is (rightfully so) on your bucket list, but you don’t have the budget, try their TOY Lunch menu. At $25 it’s a great way to experience their signature Aburi-style sushi, with a housemade ice cream or sorbet for dessert. If you’re feeling splurge-y, their $45 dinner menu is also an excellent option.

$35 Menus

Enjoy a three-course meal at WildTale, where you can build your own meal from multiple course options, and get a great taste of what this West Coast contemporary restaurant is doing. Take their suggested wine pairings with your chosen dishes (additional cost) and go next-level with your meal.

Bistro Sakana

Always a stunner, Bistro Sakana goes no holds barred for TOY in showcasing their signature dishes as an epic sampler. Try their Tuna and Avocado Crepe, Black Sesame Encrusted Tuna, their box-pressed and torch-flamed sushi, and more in one feast…with dessert!

The Greek By Anatoli

It’s Greek made chic: A three-course feast with your choice for appetizers, entree, and dessert. Enjoy anything from their crispy calamari to their soulful moussaka (or a vegan moussaka) or be adventuruous and try their Rabbit Styfado (pulled rabbit with Greek pasta).

$45 Menus

House Special

Get a taste of what this new modern Vietnamese restaurant is up to. Elevated, thoughtful contemporary takes on the classic flavours and dishes of Vietnam make for a beautiful five-course dinner here, with their Deconstructed Banh Mi, Hainanese Chicken, Banh Cuon Pasta, Fried Quail, and Asian Cream Pie.

La Pentola

A three-course tasting menu with dessert is on offer at La Pentola, Yaletown’s chic Italian dining destination. They’ve recently undergone a bit of a refresh (peep their awesome word art on their outside wall and get ready to Instagram), so it’s worth checking out their always-on point eats.

Zend Conscious Lounge

It’s vegan, it’s progressive, and it’s something you may not get to try all that often. Zend Conscious Lounge has a full sampling on offer for TOY 2016, which includes their taco, mini “burgers,” a plant-based cheese sampler, and a taste of their signature elixirs, and more.
