Once filled with warehouses and industrial buildings, Yaletown has been recycled into one of the city’s most trendy and chic areas where you can find the finest things and best food along the familiar cobble stone walkways. If you’re not familiar with the tasty offerings of this community, here is your chance to take a crash course on the deliciousness if holds with the 6th annual Taste of Yaletown.
Back bigger than ever, this year features twenty-six participating restaurants with three course prix fixe menus priced at $25, $35, or $45. The list is pretty comprehensive including some tried and true Yaletown classics, hip lounges, chain restaurants, and even a pop up restaurant. The Vancouver restaurant circuit is hyper-ethnic and I am happy to see several different cuisines represented here staying true to the city. The best part is that on one night (soon to be announced) all participating restaurants will donate 10% of their evening sales to The Greater Vancouver Food Bank, so order the extra dessert and wine pairings because it will be the tastiest donation you will ever make. Since the event began in 2005, over $110,000 has been raised – round of applause going out to Yaletown Business Improvement Association, title sponsors CIBC and restaurateurs!
Stay tuned: more information on the menus and the select donation evening to come
