Police in Surrey are investigating a sexual assault at a residential open house in North Surrey on Saturday afternoon.

According to Surrey RCMP, the incident occurred at approximately 4:10 p.m. when the female realtor was sexually assaulted by an unknown male. She was able to fight him off, and the suspect subsequently fled from the home.

Officers responding to the scene searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The realtor was not injured in the attack.

Police have described the suspect as an East Indian male in his late 20s to mid 40s, between 5’5″ to 5’5″ tall, with brown eyes and a dark brown well-groomed beard. At the time of the incident, he was wearing dark coloured pants and a light coloured shirt, and a white turban. The description also mentions that he spoke with an accent.

“The investigation is active and is in the early stages,” reads a release. “Investigators would like to hear from anyone that has any information about this sexual assault, and are seeking the assistance of the public to help identify the male suspect.”

Anyone with information that could assist investigators is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers’ anonymous hotline at 1-800-222-8477.
