RCMP are investigating after a man’s body was found in a Surrey park this week.

At 8:10 pm on Tuesday, police were called to Bakerview Park, in response to the discovery.

The man was in his mid 30s, and while the cause of death isn’t yet known, police said in a release that he was known to them “as a local homeless person.”

Police say it’s possible he may have been camping in the park.

Now, investigators are trying to notify the man’s next of kin and the BC Coroners Service is assisting police with the investigation.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers’ anonymous hotline at 1-800-222-8477.
