A Surrey man is facing charges after a woman was murdered in Kelowna this week.

According to police, the incident took place shortly after 7 pm on July 22.

RCMP officers were called to a hotel in the 3400 block of Carrington Road in West Kelowna for reports that a woman “may be in need of assistance.”

Upon their arrival at the hotel, officers found a deceased woman in a hotel room. A man was arrested a short distance from the hotel in connection with the incident and taken into police custody.
