Surrey Machete Attack Puts Man in Hospital

The new year has started off with a surge in violence in the Metro Vancouver suburb of Surrey. Another attack occured early this morning when a 25-year-old Surrey man was attacked by a group of people, one of the people was wielding a machete.

RCMP received several calls around 1 a.m. from the 14100 block of 75th Avenue.

When police arrived they found a 25-year-old man with several slashes on his body. The individual was treated in hospital earlier this morning for non life-threatening injuries.

The identity of the suspects are unknown at present. Witnesses claim to have seen the suspects flee in what looked like a van.

Surrey R.C.M.P. are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident to call Surrey R.C.M.P. at 604-599-0502, or call Crime Stoppers.
