Police in Surrey are investigating an early morning incident of gunshots being fired into a residence.

According to Surrey RCMP, the incident occurred at 3:30 a.m. this morning on the 1700 block of King George Boulevard in South Surrey. Several 911 calls reported of shots being fired in the area.

When officers arrived at the area, they determined that a residence at the scene of the incident had a number of bullet holes. There were occupants inside the home at the time, and fortunately nobody was injured.

“Officers are presently in the area conducting neighbourhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information,” reads a release. “The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this is an isolated but targeted incident.”

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers’ anonymous hotline at 1-800-222-8477.
