57-year-old woman dead after hit and run in Surrey

A 57-year-old woman is dead following a hit and run in Surrey that happened around 6:45 a.m. Monday morning.

Officers are at the scene at King George Boulevard between 80th and 84th Avenues to investigate a fatal hit and run involving a pedestrian. Road closures are still in effect in the area in both directions of King George Boulevard.

The woman was crossing King George Highway in the 8300 block when when she was hit by a car that then took off. She was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The Surrey RCMP’s Criminal Collision Team is leading the investigation with the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service providing assistance.

Police say they don’t yet have a vehicle description and will release more information as it becomes available.
