On Wednesday, November 4, Fluevog’s flagship store in Gastown will play host to their annual fundraiser for the Carousel Theatre for Young People.
A $5 advance entry fee (or $10 at the door) gets you access to an evening of shoe shopping and hobnobbing with philanthropists and fashionistas, alongside live performances from a host of upcoming musical theatre talent. And, for the evening of November 4 only, 50 per cent of all proceeds from sales at that location will be donated to the Theatre.
Last year’s inaugural shopping event had a modest goal of $5,000 in support of CYTP. Event organizer Danielle Lemon confirmed that last year’s sold-out event eventually resulted in over $25,000 of shoe sales in just three hours, with half of that going to the charity.
The event will be a catered affair hosted by Love It Or List It Vancouver’s Todd Talbot. Admission will get ticketholders one complimentary drink, and there will be a cash bar on-site. In addition to the shoe sale, this year’s event will also include a silent auction and prize draws from a number of Vancouver-based cultural organizations including Bard on the Beach, the Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver Opera and even the esteemed Stratford Festival from Ontario. Other prizes will be provided by local restaurants such as Granville Island’s Bridges, Boca Del Lupo and Baru Latino.
Tickets are $5 in advance (available through CTYP’s website) or $10 at the door. Tickets are also available by phone by contacting CYTP directly at 604-669-3410.
