In celebration of Parq Vancouver‘s one-year anniversary, Metro Vancouverites are flocking to try their hand at the Passport to Play contest.

With 11 great deals valid throughout the resort, you can collect stamps on your passport by living your best staycation life at Parq until October 31st. The stamps all correspond to one of five entertainment pillars: Eat, Play, Stay, Experience, and Relax.

If you collect five or more stamps, you will be entered to win the grand prize consisting of all the pillars: A two-night stay at JW Marriott, a massage, dinner, JT concert, casino credit, and more. In other words, a staycationer’s dream.

Because research is important, I thought I would test out some of these deals before sharing with you guys.

Step one: Pick up my Passport to Play from the Players Club, located on Level 2 of Parq Casino.
Step two: Time to play!

We all know a great staycation starts with great food (actually a great anything starts with great food) so I kicked off my experience with lunch at Honey Salt.

Other restaurants participating in Passport to Play’s Eat deals include The Victor, BC Kitchen, MRKT EAST, and D6.

This restaurant ticks off all the boxes: The service is friendly and prompt, ambiance is on point, great central location, very Instagram-worthy. Just look at it. Bright and airy, natural light, photogenic signage, hanging lights. What more could a ‘grammer want?

And then there’s the food.

Now I’m no culinary expert (my death row meal is Panago) but what I do know is the menu made it very difficult to choose just one item, and also the Maple Hills Chicken was all my taste buds have ever wanted.

The dish is made up of a grilled chicken breast in a bed of mac and cheese and natural jus, but the best part is it also has roasted heirloom carrots, kale, and padrón peppers so you don’t have to feel bad about eating mac and cheese (not that I condone ever feeling bad about eating mac and cheese). It’s the perfect balance of creamy-but-not-too-creamy, spicy-but-not-too-spicy, and oh-so-satisfying.

With Parq’s Passport to Play Honey Salt stamp, you get a complimentary dessert with the purchase of an entrée, so you better believe what came next…

The Brookie 9. If you don’t know, now you know. This slice of heaven consists of a chocolate chip cookie baked inside a fudge brownie, topped with salted caramel ice cream.

I repeat: Chocolate chip cookie. Fudge brownie. Salted caramel ice cream.

When you have eaten so much you could burst, that means the Eat experience was a success. Stamp your passport and onto the next!
