This is the dream of every caffeine-addicted Vancouverite.

There are reports on social media that the computer till systems at Starbucks locations in Canada and the United States are down.

The outage began just after 4:00 p.m. PST. and it is unclear when the systems will be operational and when the chain will stop giving out free drinks.

Meanwhile, many stores are giving out free drinks to customers, apparently. There have been confirmations by customers on social media that they received free drinks at specific Vancouver locations – a decision made by regional managers.

Some locations are only giving out free drinks in the tall (small) size or restricting free beverages to either tea or coffee options.

There have been a few reports on social media that some stores are requiring customers to pay by cash while other locations have closed their doors entirely.

Starbucks Canada was unable to immediately respond to Vancity Buzz’s inquiries.
