First they pleased the people by putting the pumpkin into their Pumpkin Spice Latte, now Starbucks is putting coconut milk on the menu for Canadians who like their coffee bevs vegan and lactose-free.
Starting Tuesday, September 8, Starbucks will be able to offer customers in Canada Single Origin Sumatra Coconut Milk (what, you thought it would just be boring ol’ “coconut milk”?).
As it turns out, coconut milk has been the second-most coffee-affiliated requested item on the website MyStarbucksIdea.com, a site for Starbies enthusiasts to put in their requests for an improved ‘bux experience. Stocking alternatives to dairy and soy has been toiling on the list since 2010, and in the U.S. the chain introduced coconut milk in February of this year.
It may have been a slow revolution, but it’s no less revolutionary:

Starbucks says their Single Origin Sumatra Coconut Milk is “certified vegan and made from single-origin coconuts from the tropical Indonesian island of Sumatra.” You can request it in all their hot, iced, and blended drinks.
