A 25-year-old Vancouver man is in custody after two men were stabbed early Saturday morning.

Just after 3 am, police were called to the area of Granville Street and Davie Street, said VPD Const. Jason Doucette. Upon their arrival, officers found the two men suffering from stab wounds.

“It appears a verbal altercation between a few men escalated and two of the men were stabbed,” Doucette told Daily Hive.

He said the suspect attempted to flee the scene, “but was held by witnesses for police.”

Police have not released the name of the suspect or the victims yet, but charges are expected in connection with the case.

Meanwhile both victims, a 27-year-old Port Coquitlam man and a 26-year-old Coquitlam man, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
