South Vancouver shooting on Fraser Street

DH Vancouver Staff Feb 18, 2009 12:56 am

A shooting of possible mistaken identity has taken place in South Vancouver this afternoon. Ironically, it’s the assailant who has been shot dead by the brother of the “target” who wrestled him to the ground. A second assailant fled the scene. The target was shot three times but is expected to survive. The full story here.

Fraser street is blocked off from 51st to 57th avenues. Police and media helicopters hover over.

Sadly, this is just a few blocks from my home.

More as it develops…

Update:Police are on high alert, pulling over anyone appearing suspicious. A male driving a BMW X5 was pulled over on Main and 41st and let go.
