A 53-year-old man is dead after he was involved in an altercation with a small group of males outside a pub in South Delta.
According to a release, Delta Police responded to a report of a fight at the rear of a pub in the 1200 block of 56th Street. When officers arrived, they found a man who was unconscious and unresponsive, and despite paramedic efforts to resuscitate him he later died in hospital.
The group of males involved in the fight fled the scene before police were able to arrive, however, two males are in custody for questioning.
The deceased man has not been identified, but police say he is a local resident and the next of kin have been notified of his death.
Delta Police believe there may have been additional witnesses who have not spoken to investigators. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or the events that led to the fight is asked to contact Delta Police at 604-946-4411.
