As the news of Target closing all Canadian stores spreads through the wire, another major company quietly announced that they will be shutting down Canadian operations as well.
Sony Corp. will shift sales to Sony resellers, the online market, and telesales as they close down all 14 Sony Stores across the country.
According to reports from the Ottawa Citizen, Sony quietly informed employees at all retail locations Thursday morning that all stores would close their doors in the next six to eight weeks.
In February 2014, Sony announced that they would be discontinuing production of the VAIO computer and sold all PC business rights to Japan Industrial Partners Inc. (JIP). Manufacturing and sales of Sony PC’s ceased in March 2014.
