The inaugural event will foster an environment where shoe collectors and sneaker enthusiasts can buy, sell or trade their footwear.

“I’ve been looking for an opportunity to socialize and network with the huge community of sneaker enthusiasts in Vancouver,” said Gem Baysan, founder of Sneaker Freak. “There was simply nothing out there, so I decided to create my own event. It’s been very exciting to bring the sneaker community together through this convention. “

Sneaker Freak will have exhibits on display where shoe collectors can sell or trade their merchandise to the public.

Sneaker Freak is very proud to be partnered with Soles4Souls Canada. Soles4Souls is a global not-for-profit institution which advances its anti-poverty mission by collecting new and gently used shoes, then distributing those shoes to people in need. Soles4Souls Canada has collected and distributed over 400,000 pairs of shoes locally and internationally. Currently they are supplying needed footwear to 100 homeless shelters in BC alone. Sneaker Freak will be giving complimentary admissions to those who donate two or more pairs of gently used shoes to Soles4Souls Canada.

Tickets are available for pre-sale through the website www.SneakerFreak.ca for $10 each. A special Easter weekend sale is blowing out tickets at $5 each (price available until April 21st). Tickets at the door will be available for $15 each. Children 12 and under are free. Complimentary tickets are available to members of the media.
