Talk between the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and the BC Rapid Transit Company broke down at the tail end of February. Towards the end of March, union members voted in favour of a strike.

The tentative deal was reached on April 2, 2014. The deal includes:

  • Wage increases of two per cent in each of the first two years
  • 1.75-per-cent wage hike in the third year.
