A single New Westminster mother who was attacked by a dog needs the public’s help to be able to take care of her two children while she recovers.

Alicia Holhauser sustained injuries to her face, head, and body, and is now missing half her ear. She also has temporary nerve damage in her jaw.

Holhauser’s friend Steph Gust set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses as she recuperates when she leaves the hospital.

“We don’t want her to worry about her rent and bills for herself and her boys, as well as any unexpected medical expenses,” she said on the page.

“She is the strongest woman I’ve ever known, and the most deserving woman at this point.”

Holhauser has already had surgery once due to her injuries and has at least one more on the way.
