If you are a fan of trance or any other form of melodic dance music, the name Gabriel & Dresden shouldn’t be new to you. Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden hail from Holland and the United States, and have been a major force in dance music for over a decade now. Stereotype Friday’s at Celebrities is arguably the most popular weekly dance music night in the city and we are expecting a hell of a show from these two.
The duo joined forces in 2001 and since then have cemented their reputation as one of the most influential dance acts of our time. The duo split up in 2008 to pursue solo careers, but reunited with a vengeance in 2010 and haven’t looked back since. Hits such as “Tracking Treasure Down” and “As The Rush Comes” (through their “Motorcycle” alias project with Jes Brieden) are surely going to keep things energetic and epic. The duo have also been getting great reactions from around the world for the track “Promises” released under Josh Gabriel’s “Andain” alias project. I listened to an episode of Above & Beyond’s TATW from 2011, where the duo discussed their reunification with host Tony McGuinness and how their sound has changed since the split. Expect the two to have a new flavour to their set, but as always I am sure the quality will stay the same if they stick to their roots. Like most club shows in Vancouver, the two will most likely start their set around midnight and play until 3am. With a capacity of around 500 people, expect this show to fill up by the time the two start. I would go early to avoid any line-ups, especially on Fridays that feature high profile artists such as this one. We are definitely looking forward to this show, it should be a big night!
Blueprint is bringing a lot more great shows to Vancouver soon, stay up to date on: http://www.blueprintevents.ca/
