A security guard is dead after an accident Monday night on the Burnaby set of TNT’s Falling Skies.

According to Deadline, the incident happened at 8:30 p.m. at a park. The security guard, a member of the Vancouver Teamsters Local 155 union, was killed after a five-ton parked truck rolled down a slope and crushed the man against a tree. This occurred when the truck’s tailgate was lowered to allow equipment to be loaded off.

The male victim was rushed to New Westminster’s Royal Columbian Hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

RCMP are investigating the incident to identify the precise cause behind the truck’s roll down the incline. Production on the show was also shut down today.

Falling Skies is executively produced by Steven Spielberg. The Vancouver-filmed sci-fi drama series is currently undergoing production for its fifth and final season. It is a post-apocalyptic story of the human race struggling for its survival following an alien invasion.
