Yogis, listen up: a secret yoga pop-up open air studio has made an appearance for the summer on Main Street.
Located behind Little Mountain Shop, the pop-up will provide yoga lovers with a little Mount Pleasant reprieve Monday through Thursday from 7 to 9 pm. The private studio can only be accessed through the back alley.
Social Yoga founder Anita Cheung started the pop-up because she felt yoga in Vancouver had become stale. She aims to keep things lighthearted and accessible while touching on the main points of connection, mindfulness, and reflection.
This isn’t the first time Social Yoga has made an appearance in the city. They’ve taken hold of spaces in wood shops, breweries, and cafes and turned them into intimate spaces designed to get people moving.
Classes include ice breakers so participants get to know one another, and chatting throughout the session is encouraged.
In addition to the yoga classes, a number of events are scheduled for August, including a Blend-Off Challenge with The Juice Truck, and a Thug Kitchen themed picnic.
When: All throughout August, Monday through Thursday; 7 to 9 pm
Where: 4386 Main Street, Vancouver (access through the back alley only)
