Some 10,000 runners are expected to take part in the SeaWheeze Half-Marathon this Saturday, August 13 – and there will be several traffic closures as a result.

The race starts at 7 am on Hastings Street, between Burrard and Thurlow) and finishes at at 12:30 pm on the seawall (Harbor Green Park) in Coal Harbour near the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Expect the following areas to have closures (click on the hyperlink for details):

Also expect increased traffic on buses and Skytrain before and after the SeaWheeze. Several buses will be rerouted. Visit translink.ca to find out more.

Some sections of the Seawall will be closed with detours in place for pedestrians, cyclists, and in-line skaters between 7 am and noon.

If you’re not running in the race, you can still purchase tickets for the giant Sunset Festival afterwards, with headlining bands Chromeo, Dear Rouge, and Young Blood.
