RvBCanwest is a local video-game event that goes down this weekend, May 28th-30th. The event has been going on for four years now and is a great chance for gaming enthusiast to mingle with people in the industry in a relaxed environment.
RvB CanWest, a non-profit machinima gathering in Vancouver, BC, celebrates a young form of filmmaking that utilizes video-games such as the award-winning Halo and The Sims as the means through which to tell a visual story. “Machinima”, or virtual puppetry, insiders like to call it.
2010 is the first event where Dominic Dobrzensky (Count3D) is taking control of the show and he is making sure the primary focus is the community, charity and people. This year 100% of all profits will be going to Childs Play Charity, and this will come from ticket sales as well as an in house and online auction.
