RunForH2O and bring clean drinking water to Guatemala

DH Vancouver Staff May 13, 2016 5:52 pm

Help bring clean water to families in Guatemala through Gwatermala’s fourth annual RunForH2O fundraising event here in Vancouver.

In B.C., we have some of the cleanest drinking water in the world, and it’s easy to take for granted; in Guatemala, more than a million people are not so lucky.

You can pay it forward by doing the RunForH2O on Saturday, June 4 and taking part in a 10km or 5km run or walk, the 1km kids run or the 50m toddler dash.

The event is family friendly, with musical performances and lots of fun activities to take part in after the run along the Fraser River. Eat some snacks, and enter to win some cool prizes.

Many Guatemalan women and children are forced to hike through treacherous conditions on a daily basis to get clean water.

This year, Gwatermala wants to raise $60,000 to build a sustainable water system in the village of Rijuyup.
