Rolex Vancouver store opens in Shangri-La Hotel (PHOTOS)

Amidst the clinking glasses of Moet & Chandon, the largest Rolex boutique in North America launched in Vancouver’s Luxury Zone on October 27. The private event included special guests, media, VIPs, and representatives from Rolex.

Located at the base of the Shangri-La Hotel, the over 2,000-square-foot store replaced the Xi Shi Lounge, and is operated by the Global Watch Company (GWC).

The boutique’s interior is inspired by “the water and the sea,” and is reflective of the brand’s aesthetic. Inside, find towering floral displays of white orchids, calla lilies, and lemon yellow roses adorning the leather topped cabinetry, which was manufactured in Switzerland and shipped amidst the strictest Rolex protocols. And covering the floor is a custom mix of Crema Marfil marble and plush carpeting.

A wall of illuminated laser-etch Aqua glass, bronze accents, and sparkling tiered chandeliers add the final touches of elegance to the newest luxury retailer to open in downtown.

“The inauguration of the new Rolex Boutique in Vancouver marks an exciting moment in the history of Global Watch Company and is a reflection of the company’s loyalty to the values of the Rolex brand,” said Sassan Pourfar, founder and owner of GWC. “We are very proud to be expanding the Rolex presence in the city and to have the first Rolex boutique in Vancouver.”

Rolex joins a number of brands that, over the past few years, opened stores in Vancouver’s Luxury Zone, including Saint Laurent, Versace, Prada, Moncler, Brunello Cucinelli, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and Lao Feng Xiang. No word on the fate of the Stefano Ricci boutique, which was to open this month, nearby on West Georgia Street, in the retail space the base of the Trump Tower. The tower’s opening date has been changed to early 2017.
