Police find warehouse filled with pianos in Richmond

Are you missing a piano? It might be in Richmond.

On Thursday, Richmond RCMP said that in early June, they received information of a warehouse in south Richmond where “numerous” pianos were discovered.

The pianos reportedly range in size and style from small uprights to concert grands.

Now, police want to return the musical instruments to their rightful owners.

“The precious memories and sentimental value each piano holds may far outweigh any monetary value,” said Richmond RCMP Cpl. Denis Hwang.

Noting that the pianos may belong to people in the Richmond area, Hwang said police are advising the public of this situation “in hopes that their owners will contact us.”

Anyone currently missing a piano who thinks it may be currently part of this collection in Richmond is asked to call police at 604-278-1212, or email them for more information and/or to claim.
