Residents and visitors in Richmond this weekend are invited to come celebrate the arrival of fall in the city this weekend, during the annual Harvest Full Moon Celebration.

Taking place on Saturday, the free, all-ages event is meant to celebrate the city’s rich agricultural and fishing history, through arts and culture community engaged workshops. The celebration culminates in a final procession and celebration.

Led by local artist, Marina Szijarto, the Harvest Full Moon Project “brings us together as a community, to give thanks during the harvest season through traditions, rituals and the arts,” according to the city.

The Celebration will begin in the Community Living Room at City Centre Community Centre from 5:30 to 7 pm, with art stations, live music, moon cakes and tea to enjoy.

A lantern procession will then follow at Minoru Park, Bowling Green Road at 7:30 pm with live soft music starting at 6:50 pm.
