Richmond Cuddle Party 2016

Aug 31 2016, 1:07 am

Need a hug? How about a non-sexual snuggle, having your hair brushed, or a friendly back rub?

If you answered yes to any of the above then a Cuddle Party might be for you.

So what is a Cuddle Party?

According to the Richmond event’s website, would-be snugglers – who are encouraged to wear PJs or yoga pants – can expect a consensual, structured, non sexual environment designed to promote human connection.

All genders are welcome to the 45-minute event which includes activities like shoulder massages, spooning and shared snuggles in a relaxed cell-phone free environment.

Run by a trained facilitator (who also hosts the event in their apartment), participants are put through a series of playful exercises to get acquainted with their fellow huggers and to learn the rules of safe snuggling. Then there’s a few hours to practice your new found cuddling competency.

Not into hugging? No problem, you can just enjoy the embracing atmosphere whilst chit chatting with fellow attendees or journalling.
