Robson Square’s skating rink is about to get a blast from the past.

This weekend, on Sunday, June 17, the rink will be transformed into a classic roller disco for some old-school family roller skating.

It’s the return of the second FUBAR (Friends United Beyond All Race) Roller Jam, a charity event that sees proceeds benefit the BC & Yukon Make-A-Wish foundation.

DJ Alibaba, DJ Dave, DJ Relik, Earl Da Pearl, DJ Jial 14, and the Table Tutors will all be on site, spinning old-school soul, funk, and R&B through the duration of the event.

In addition to the skating and live music, the event will feature special performances, food vendors, face painting, prize draws, and 50/50 draws.

The disco begins at 12 pm on Sunday with an all-ages family & beginner skate that runs until 2:30 pm. Advanced skaters will also be available to tutor and guide beginners.

From 3 to 6 pm, a faster, more advanced skate will take place for skaters aged 10 and above.

After the event, an ages 19 and up after party will be hosted at the Soul Train Social Night.

Admission to the event is by donation, with a minimum of $10. Adult equipment will also be available for rental but is first come first served.
