It’s been a long time coming – two and a half years, the be exact – but construction in Resurrection Spirits, a distillery located at 1672 Franklin Street, is almost finished.
This spot has been a labour of love for founder and co-owner Brian Grant, who has 20 years of bartending experience at spots like Pourhouse in Gastown.
Grant and his business partners have been patiently waiting for all their permits, and they are oh-so-close to opening – just weeks away from their tentative grand opening in September.
Resurrection will be producing, distributing, and pouring its spirits in its 3,700 square-foot tasting room and distillery in East Van, in a space with an upper area that will eventually be used for private parties and events.
Patrons here can expect an emphasis on liquor made with organic rye grain grown right here in BC at a farm in Chilliwack, Anita’s Organic Mill. There will be plenty of gin and whiskey up for order, and eventually you can look forward to spirits infused with Okanagan fruits.
Grant is constantly creating new artisan cocktails for their menu, something that is sure to be a big hit with patrons once they open their doors, and he eventually hopes to serve a small menu of sandwiches and bar bites.
The space is gorgeous, and Resurrection is right in the thick of the micro distillery and brewing action – it’s right near establishments like Callister Brewing, Odd Society Spirits, and Andina Brewing – so we look forward to seeing this spot open their doors and join the micro scene come fall.
