East Vancouver’s Red Wagon is expanding their evening fare with extended dinner options and a renewed “Off the Wagon” Happy Hour.
Featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives during its early days, Red Wagon is popular amongst brunch-lovers looking for an all-day breakfast menu that goes beyond the tired eggs benny or chewy flapjacks, but diners aren’t checking out The Red Wagon for just its breakfasts anymore; the humble spot’s dinner and drink menu is flourishing with rich French fare.
Chef and Owner Brad Miller’s creative comfort food dwelling, a favourite in the Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood for the last five years, is now taking the next step to earning a degree in the dinner and drink market. The “French simplicity” style establishment will now be expanding their dinner menu from Wednesdays through to Sundays with a seasonal fresh sheet, daily dinner features and the new happy hour, all with a modest budget in mind.
The “Off the Wagon” drink specials will run from Wednesdays to Fridays, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and include age-appropriate items for kids like lemonade, Boylan’s Sodas and ice cream floats.
For grown ups, the happy hour boasts cheap selections of Vancouver-brewed craft beer such as $4 bottles of Parallel 49 and R&B as well as $5 Red Wagon cocktails.
The dinner fresh sheet menu for March offers three new items; Chicken Tagine with spice almonds and saffron-scented couscous, a Monte Cristo Sandwich with smoked pears and house-made chips and a dessert trio of Crème Brûlée.
Diners can return each month for a new fresh sheet menu featuring Red Wagon’s classic take on French fare.
