Here's how much every Toronto Raptors player will make next season
It’s a good gig, if you can get it.
Basketball players make obscene amounts of money, and next year will be no exception for the Toronto Raptors.
To get an idea of just how much money the top NBA players make, note that the Raptors’ top four players will earn more than any player playing in the NHL next season.
The NBA is a star-driven league, so it should come as no surprise that the big names make by far the most money.
Kyle Lowry will earn the most on the team next season, making $28.7 million after he signed a brand new $100 million contract this offseason. Fellow All-Star guard DeMar DeRozan also earns big paycheque, clocking in at $27.7 million next year.
Toronto’s big men will be rewarded handsomely as well as Serge Ibaka, who re-signed earlier this month, also tops the $20 million mark. Jonas Valanciunas will earn over $15 million.
The Raptors’ five highest paid players – recent acquisition CJ Miles reportedly signed a three-year, $25 million contract – represent more than 85% of the combined $117 million in money owed to 15 players next season.
Lowry is fifth-highest paid player in the NBA, behind only Stephen Curry ($34.68M), LeBron James ($33.29M), Gordon Hayward ($29.73M), and Blake Griffin (29.70M). DeRozan, meanwhile, ranks 10th on the list.
Lowry will earn more money than any player in the NHL or NFL next season. He’ll also earn more money than every MLB player with the exception of Clayton Kershaw and David Price.
