This weekend, a young woman in her early twenties fell to her death out of a Yaletown Condo. Witnesses have now identified the victim to be 21 year old Ranita Arnold.

The death was initially believed to be suspicious, however, after extensive investigation by the police into the tragedy and many witnesses coming forward, a homicide investigation has been deemed unlikely.

Ranita was found dead on the sidewalk outside a Yaletown condo at Howe and Pacific Street around 5 p.m. after falling 13 floors.

According to property records the unit is owned by Tyler Duffy, a dentist with a clinic in Kitsilano. He is also part-owner of the Pourhouse restaurant in Gastown. He and Ranita were in a romantic relationship.

According to neighbours, the police were called to the unit early Sunday morning.

It’s unclear at the moment whether or not more people were in the apartment at the time of the death. The police have talked to the occupant of the apartment.
