Hello goodbye bar in vancouver dashing date

Community is so important, and with the world of social media changing so fast it clearly alters all the ways in which we interact with people. On May 1, Vancouver collective Exhaling Change will launch Project Thankful, a campaign aiming to bring Vancouver’s online and offline communities together, by gathering people and getting them to express gratitude for things they are thankful for.

Using hashtags #todayimthankfulfor and #projectthankful, the online strategy is prepped to get people tweeting about something they are thankful for, everyday for 30 days. The offline strategy will be an art installation living at The Board of Trade Carrall in Gastown (206 Carrall Street, Vancouver), where you will physically be able to express what you are thankful for on installation itself. When the month is over, the art piece will be auctioned off and the money will be donated to the Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House. This is the first project of many, with the goal to target different communities each time with a new idea and art installation.

Exhaling Change was recently formed earlier this year by Justine Zeisman and Matt Schroeter, a passionate and inspired duo. The main goal is to bring communities, ideas and people together by inspiring and creating positive change through a series of projects aimed at different communities within Vancouver.

“Project Thankful is about taking it back to the simplicity of expressing gratitude for what you value most in life and appreciating what you have in the present,” says co-founder Justine Zeisman. “We feel that by taking action in such a simple initiative will influence other people to do the same, in turn creating a community that shares and embraces similar values. Creating positive change isn’t about making huge steps, it’s about building upon baby steps to make a strong foundation to bring communities to life together.”
