When you hear about everyone’s beauty picks you can’t help but notice a pattern in what people love. Many times there is a lot of hype built up for the launch of a new product and you wonder whether or not it’s actually good. I’m not one to jump on a beauty bandwagon until I try the product myself for an extended period of time. My goal was to keep this list under five but I just had to show some love for these guys. Enjoy!

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner ($26) – After trying to save some cash I found myself testing out several different liquid liners in hopes of replacing my Stila Stay All Day. Let’s just say that operation ‘affordable liquid liner’ was an epic fail. It takes a couple tries to get the hang of the felt tip but once you do, it gives you insane precision when creating a cat eye.

*Available at select Shoppers Drug Mart locations and Sephora

Tarte 12 Hour Amazonian Clay Blushes ($31) – I know what you’re thinking, ‘why aren’t the Nars blushes on her list?’ Well, that’s because they don’t have the same staying power. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Nars blushes like no other, but they just don’t last all day like I need them to. The Amazonian clay blushes by Tarte are extremely pigmented, and blend with ease. When they say 12 hours, they sure as heck mean it! (My favourite has to be in the shade Doll Face – shown above)

*Available at Sephora

Josie Maran Argan Oil ($58) – I was a bit wary of putting oil on my face, because duh – oil breaks you out, right? Wrong! Everyone is going crazy for facial oils right now. I use this 1-2 times a week to give my skin some extra hydration and glow. I also find that the argan oil works best for at use before bed because it is a bit heavy. If you’re looking for an oil for during the day, I’d suggest the Maracuja Oil by Tarte Cosmetics. It’s lightweight and absorbs into your skin fairly quick.

*Available at Sephora

Benefit They’re Real Mascara ($29) – This product is a bit iffy for some people; those who love it, REALLY love it and those who don’t like it, REALLY don’t like it. I am clearly one of those people that love this product, a lot. I find that it lengthens and separates my lashes and the unique, rounded tip of the applicator helps me accurately sweep my lashes in order to create the extension that I want to achieve.

*Available at select Shoppers Drug Mart locations and Sephora

Bioderma ($18 – $30) – Alright lovelies, this stuff is no joke. It’s an oil-free makeup remover that gets rid of all your makeup without leaving behind a greasy residue. You could use it to rid your entire face of makeup but since it is a bit pricey, I use it to fix winged liner mistakes, clean up any eyeshadow fallout or any other makeup boo-boos . It also works great for cleaning brushes, especially lip brushes! It draws out all the color without being too harsh.

*Available at Shoppers Drug Mart

Naked Palettes by Urban Decay ($62) – I couldn’t write an article like this without mentioning the legendary Naked palettes! I haven’t gotten my hands on the Naked 3 just yet but I’m sure it’s just as great as the others. I literally use my Naked 2 every day and have yet to hit pan on any of the shadows. They’re not lacking any pigment, that’s for sure. If you are to invest in any shadow palettes, let it be one of the Nakeds!

*Available at Sephora
