Port Moody is holding a FREE summer party and BBQ next week

Jul 19 2018, 11:28 pm

The City of Port Moody is inviting residents and visitors alike to a free community celebration, hosted by none other than the city’s mayor, Mike Clay.

Now in its third year, Clay’s Summertime Celebration returns on Friday, July 27 and will feature fun activities and delicious food.

“Port Moody is the perfect place to be in the summer, with our beautiful natural surroundings and our friendly, small-town feel,” said Clay.

Kicking off at 3 pm, the celebration will start with a free barbecue. Members of the Port Moody Volunteer Firefighters’ Association will be grilling hog dogs, where freezies and cold drinks will be offered as well.

The barbecue will be followed by the vintage vocal trio, Beautiful Shop Dolls, who will bring you a classy and captivating show at 4:45 pm.

To wrap up the celebration, Clavinova Nights will perform their signature blend of jazz, blues, and upbeat dance music.

The event is family-friendly and will include summer fun for all ages. There will be a bouncy castle, an obstacle course, and an enormous inflatable slide, just to name a few.

The celebration takes place in front of Port Moody’s City Hall, and parking will be limited. Event-goers are encouraged to leave their cars at home, and walk, bike, or take public transit instead.
