Vancouver Police are looking for a male suspect who allegedly assaulted a 57-year-old woman in East Vancouver on Monday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m. when the woman was was walking along East 29th Avenue towards Rupert Street. According to police, the man approached her from behind and groped her.
“As the woman tried to go to a nearby home for help, the man returned and began his violent attack,” reads a news release. “The suspect then abruptly stopped the assault and ran away.”
Officers who arrived at the scene were not able to find the suspect, but they took the victim to hospital for the treatment of her injuries. She was released shortly after.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, 40 to 50 years old, between 5’10” and 6′ tall, 170 lbs and with short grey hair. Police also say he had “small eyes” and was wearing a dark hoodie, jeans, and white runners.
