An investigation by homicide detectives with the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section continues after a man was killed at a house on Gladstone Street near East 29th Avenue late last night.

At about 11:30 p.m., police received several 9-1-1 calls after residents in the East Vancouver neighbourhood reported hearing shots.

When officers arrived, they found a 33-year-old man at the entrance of the home suffering from gunshot injuries. Paramedics arrived and declared the man dead at the scene.

The name of the deceased is not yet being released. Although early in the investigation, information obtained by police would indicate that the attack was not random.

Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to contact the Vancouver Police at (604) 717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
