Vancouver Police are investigating a homicide at a apartment building near Triumph Street and Nanaimo Street in East Vancouver.

Officers were called to the scene at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday after the body of a man was found inside an apartment.

Approximately 15 minutes later, a man living in the residence was found by patrol officers near Wall Street and Dundas Street.

The 29-year-old was arrested without incident and charges of manslaughter are being recommended. Police say the accused and the victim are known to each other and the homicide appears to be drug related.

At this time, the identity of the victim is not being released as attempts are still being made to contact the family of the deceased.

This was the City of Vancouver’s first homicide of 2015.
