Police investigate early-morning shooting in Surrey

An early-morning shooting in Surrey’s Port Kells neighbourhood has prompted a police investigation.

According to a media release by Surrey RCMP, the incident occurred just after 3 am in the 18700 block of 88 Avenue. When officers arrived, they found evidence that supported the reports of gunshots fired in the area.

“Officers are on scene and will conducting neighbourhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information regarding this incident,” reads the release.

Few details are available at this time as the investigation is still in its early stages. There are no reports of injuries.
