Burnaby RCMP is investigating an indecent act that took place on Thursday, September 29.

According to a release from the RCMP, the incident occurred at around 3:30 pm, when a 12-year-old female was approached by a male in a vehicle.

The female was walking on Pandora Street at Holdom Avenue when a male driving a white vehicle drove alongside her and asked for directions. She responded to the man, who then drove away only to approach minutes later and ask again for the same directions. This time the male exposed himself.

“We’re pleased the young girl was able to quickly run away to safety. She was not followed by the male,” said Sergeant Derek Thibodeau, spokesperson for the Burnaby RCMP. “However, we are looking for anyone who might be able to provide us with more information about this incident, or the suspect.”

The man is described as a Caucasian, 30 to 40 years old, with brown hair, a brown beard and wearing reflective sunglasses. The vehicle he was driving is described as a white four door sedan, fairly new, and possibly a Toyota.

Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-294-7922 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-8477.
